Terry grew up in Douglass, Kansas in a construction family and has been a life-long resident of Butler County. His father and grandfather began building homes in Butler County over 60 years ago and his two brothers have been involved with construction projects for years. During his high school and college years, Terry spent the summers working in the family business, framing and learning all phases of the building trade.
After graduating from college with a degree in Business and Physical Education, Terry spent the next 37 years teaching and coaching wrestling and football throughout Butler County. During his years in education and coaching, he won many awards at the state and national level for his work with young people. Terry was inducted into the National Wrestling Hall of Fame, Stillwater, Oklahoma for his service and dedication to the sport of wrestling and continues to support High School Athletics in the area.
Terry is married to Cheryl Forrester Alley and they have two grown children Lauren Dohrman and Derek Alley. His hobbies center around aviation where you can find him flying his antique Aeronca Champ or instructing others to fly radio control airplanes.
